Revenue tracking
Follow every lead from estimate to recorded payment.
RevenueTie connects each lead to its estimates, approvals, deposits, invoices and the payments your team records, so you can see what was quoted, what was approved, what was invoiced and what was actually received.
Revenue usually lives far away from the lead that produced it.
Quotes are built in one place, invoices in another, and payments show up in an inbox or the accounting system. Connecting a payment back to the enquiry that started it, and to the campaign behind that enquiry, means hours of matching names and amounts.
In RevenueTie, estimates, invoices and payments are created on the lead itself. The connection is never lost, so revenue can be reported by lead, by client and by marketing source.
Four numbers that mean different things
RevenueTie keeps each stage of money separate, so a quote is never mistaken for cash.
| Figure | What it means in RevenueTie |
|---|---|
| Awaiting decision | Estimates that have been sent and not yet approved or declined. |
| Approved | Estimates the client has said yes to, including those confirmed by a deposit. |
| Invoiced and awaiting payment | Amounts on invoices that have been issued but not fully paid. |
| Collected | Payments your team has recorded as received: deposits and invoice payments. |
Estimates and approvals
Build estimates from your catalog with discounts, tax and a deposit. Send them by email, text or WhatsApp. When the client approves, or pays the deposit, record it and the estimate counts as approved.
- Products and services from your catalog
- Fixed or percentage deposits
- Sent, approved, declined and deposit-received statuses
- A list of every estimate, with filters and export
Invoices and recorded payments
Create an invoice from an approved estimate in one step. Any deposit already received is carried over. Record payments as they arrive, by method and reference, and the invoice shows its balance until it’s paid in full.
- Invoices from estimates or created directly
- Partial payments and balances
- Overdue invoices highlighted
- Refunds recorded against the original payment
Revenue by client and by source
Each client page brings together all of their leads, estimates and invoices. On the dashboard and in campaign reports, collected revenue is reported against the marketing source of the lead it came from.
RevenueTie records payments; it doesn’t process, collect or hold them, and it isn’t accounting software. Keep using your payment methods and your accounting system as you do today.
Frequently asked questions
Does RevenueTie process customer payments?
No. Your clients pay the way they already do, by e-Transfer, card, cash or cheque, and your team records the payment in RevenueTie.
Is RevenueTie accounting software?
No. It tracks estimates, invoices and recorded payments so you can measure sales and marketing outcomes. Bookkeeping, tax and payroll stay in your accounting software.
Can I bring in revenue from before I started using RevenueTie?
You can import existing clients, including their past revenue. Imported past revenue is shown separately and doesn’t count in your marketing reports.
Can I see which products and services sell most?
Products and services are recorded on each estimate and invoice, and sales information is available through the reporting in the app. Ask us in the demo about the specific breakdowns you need.
